We are proud to announce our very own Upshot consultant, Preeti Shetty has been chosen as one of 28 Sport Industry Next Gen Leaders at an event in London last week. Sports Industry Next Gen, in partnership with Barclays aims to identify tomorrow’s leaders, reward their potential and nurture their talent.
The leaders were selected after a thorough steering process and were also assessed in person by the Judges at an educational and training afternoon via a series of group challenges, individual tasks and interviews.
Preeti has been selected for her potential, drive, motivation and commitment to the sports industry, especially in her field of measurement and impact and is now entitled to 12 months of leadership support and mentoring from the esteemed judges who will help shape her talents and better equip her for future leadership roles.
The inaugural Sport Industry NextGen: A Celebration took place on Wednesday 27th January 2016 at Village Underground, Shoreditch, and saw all 28 Sport Industry NextGen Leaders celebrated with an evening of networking, education and inspirational talks sharing the secrets to leadership.
The event saw Q&As and discussion from the likes of former Swansea City manager Garry Monk, Williams Martini Racing deputy team principal Claire Williams; founder and CEO of Entrepreneur First, Matt Clifford; Women’s Rugby World Cup winner, Maggie Alphonsi; writer, communicator and strategist Alastair Campbell and more.
Other members of the esteemed Judging Panel – including the likes of CEO of London 2012, Sir Keith Mills; One Young World co-founder, Kate Robertson and consultant, writer and film-maker Leon Mann - were also on hand to share their views on leadership and explain the secrets to their success.
The evening also offered a chance for everyone to join in a unique discussion; sharing stories, lessons and anecdotes around the past, present and future of leadership in the sport industry.
