BBC Sports Personality of the Year - Unsung Hero

As you probably know, BBC Sports Personality of the Year (SPOTY) is held every December to reflect and celebrate on another year of British Sporting success. The BBC SPOTY’s 'Unsung Hero' award celebrates individuals that give up their own free time to help others take part in grassroots sports. There will be 15 local winners across the UK and sports clubs across the country will also be championed and thanked on the night.

The Unsung Hero award will be supported in 2019 by Made By Sport - a four year campaign championing the power of sport to change lives and raising vital funds for organisations that are using sport to transform the lives of young people in the UK.

Made By Sport will be working in collaboration with the Sport For Development Coalition, a movement made up of over 60 charitable organisations and funders with a reach in to thousands of schools, communities, clubs and organisations, to ensure the UK’s most inspiring and deserving volunteers are nominated for this prestigious award.
